Bush Endorses McCain

Forget the photo ops that happened earlier this year. Here is what Bush really thinks of McCain:

The more things change, the more they stay the same. And that's what we would get with McCain, just more of the same.

Either McPain is a "maverick" or he's a Bushie.

Can't have both--and I'm not enthused over EITHER.

  2. I understand the point Dad is making. However, the problem is that McCain himself, a long time
Republican "maverick", has seemingly sold that part of his soul to garner support with the Republican base.

Therefore all of us are left to wonder which man would emerge from the political candidate, were he successful.

When a man claims not to be what he long was, the only defense against being attacked for both incarnations is to clearly state who his is now and why.

    That hasn't happened.

  3. As a Card-Carrying-Conservative, allow me to dispel your illusions.

McCain is 'conservative' on only three issues (we think...): 1) spending; 2) defense; and 3) the "life" issues.

Everything else is up for grabs--like the 1st Amendment, for example.

And that idea that we owe Georgia some defense (how much? how long?) because, after all, they have elections....

What NATIONAL INTEREST do we have? None stated.

  4. Dad,

McCain is not conservative on spending when he wants to give mega-tax breaks to Big Oil and other Big Contributors. He is spending money that will have to come out of our pockets.

And he is definitely a Bushie.
