Big Brother Wally Is Watching

Wally World employees are fired after complaining about a security camera in a bathroom:

Seven former and current Walmart employees are suing the retail giant after one of its Pennsylvania stores installed a surveillance camera in a unisex bathroom used by employees and customers, according to ABC News.

The camera was allegedly installed by two employees in the company’s loss-prevention department, with the aim of monitoring employees for theft.

They installed the device in a bathroom–dressing room in the Tire and Lube center of a Walmart Supercenter in Easton, Pennsylvania. Workers discovered the camera in March 2008. It’s not known how long the camera was recording activity in the bathroom before it was found.

Las Vegas Dan better be careful.

  1. Wow, that's pretty sick. Sounds like people might want to let Wally know that that's not acceptable.

  2. It didn't say they were fired and some curent employees are sueing as well.
Having said that, it is wrong and some people got over zealous. No excuses, it is wrong.
I'll be checking our bathrooms tomorrow.

  3. Are the links to two different stories?? The second one is about some perv who was not trying to prevent theft...and he put the camera in a bathroom at a donut shop not Walmart.

I'm curious about the Walmart story though...whether the security was an independent contractor or if they were employed by Walmart...and if they were instructed to put the cameras there. I swear...give a little power to the wrong people and they suddenly think they are God. This is why I rather stay home and shop online...there are too many freaks out there.

  4. Oh...and what is up with the unisex bathroom??? Gross...and yuck! Honestly...what in the world??? Are you telling me Walmart can't afford to build a store with two separate bathrooms??

  5. Nevermind about the first question about the donut shop perv...apparently the written story doesn't match the video...which is what I watched.

  6. I think it's important to know the field of view of the camera.

I suspect you still had privacy while in the stall. But if I'm wrong, sue, sue, sue...

Yes, most Wal-Marts have a unisex bathroom. It's called the family restroom.
Why would it be yuck? Do you have a male and female bathroom at your house?

  8. "Why would it be yuck?"

Because I find using a bathroom with strange men repulsive.

"Yes, most Wal-Marts have a unisex bathroom. It's called the family restroom."

Now I'm beginning to understand the reputation Walmart has...
