Cato's Senior Fellow Clumsiness

H/T Wisconsin Reporter for pointing out that the right wing "think tanks" just do not think!

Michael Tanner, senior fellow with the Cato Institute, a Washington, D.C.-based free-market think tank, said both Congress and the Obama administration have abdicated their responsibility, laying the unnecessary weight of political uncertainty on the backs of business.

“If they ran a business that way, they would get fired,” Tanner said.

Obviously, no one told Mr. Tanner that if he is advocating for the "free market". the CERTAINTY is not involved!    All Mr. Tanner needed to do was check out Dictionary:

free market

noun
an economic system in which prices and wages are determined by unrestricted competition between businesses, without government regulation or fear of monopolies.

I get when Scott Walker talks about the "need for certainty" and how he feels our free market needs that to thrive, since no one ever considered him to be the sharpest tool in the shed, but a "senior fellow" from a "free market" think tank should know what a free market is..

  1. Since uncertainty is the very essence of market capitalism, it seems that the "Conservatives" are arguing for a centrally planned economy in which government and business combine in a crony capitalist system, a Plutonomy.

To these corporate shills certainty means: Low wages, no social safety net, no unions, the decimation of small business in favor of conglomerates, secret government, limited free speech so that the ruling elite is insulated from criticism, education that indoctrinates students rather than enlightening them, class segregation, police state surveillance to guarantee adherence to corporate rule and endless war to keep the fear-o-meter pinned in the red zone.

They are traitors to Democracy and traitors to the Constitution, every one of them. To them politics is class war by another name.

It will be interesting to see how much of this crap Americans can digest before puking it up.
