The Treacherous Lena Taylor

I first met State Senator Lena Taylor about six years ago, when she was running against Scott Walker for the position of Milwaukee County Executive.

I was still writing at folkbum's rambles and rants at that time, and I fought hard to try to get her elected.  Sadly, her campaign was very poorly managed and was an utter flop.  I remember feeling more than a little angry when it seemed like that I was working harder on the campaign than her campaign staff was.  I grew even more miffed when I learned her her campaign manager* was lying through his teeth to me.

But she was such an amiable person that I didn't stay mad long.

In 2011, when Taylor and her other senators fled the country to give the people a chance to recognize the harm that Scott Walker and the Republicans were causing to the state, I cheered her on as did so many other Wisconsinites.

But something happened.

Taylor changed.

She is no longer the champion of the people nor for her own constituents.

It started a year and a half ago, when Taylor went against her constituents and against Milwaukee by supporting the reckless concealed carry law, comparing guns to works of art.  When you have an area that has such a high level of gun-related crimes as they do in her district, the last thing one wants to do is introduce more guns.

Last year, she fought against members of her own party, especially Sandy Pasch, during the election, jeopardizing the few seats that the Democrats were winning.

Earlier this year, she was seen standing behind Scott Walker as he was pushing the mining bill, complete with the lies that it would create jobs right away, much less that those jobs would go to Wisconsinites.

And now she has come out as a cosponsor of the plutocratic power grab which will eliminate local level representation for people in her district, not to mention raise taxes and cuts services on the poorest and most vulnerable of her constituents.

To recap, in the last year and a half, she has back-stabbed her own party, her state, her county, her city and her own constituents.

I would say that last year, when we swept out the sell outs like Jason Fields and Elizabeth Coggs, it appears we missed at least one more.  We will have to make sure we correct that mistake the next time she comes up for reelection.

At least Senator Chris Larson, Senate Minority Leader, had the foresight to take her off the important Joint Finance Committee.  Who knows what damage she could have done then.

With Democrats like Taylor, who needs Republicans?

*That same fellow is now working for Abele and is still telling lies. Coincidence to Taylor's latest treachery?

  2. They all cave when the money starts to roll in.

Higher office is calling, it's on the line in Walkers chambers.

  3. I thought something was amiss when she made a comment to one of my posts about working "with" the other party. We all know you can't work "with" this Republican party unless you JOIN them.

  4. You mean there is a democrat that thinks for themselves? Wow !!

    1. By "thinking for themselves" do you mean wants to make democracy harder and more fleeting for the people and easier for the corporatocracy to buy? than you are correct sir.

  5. Can you explain this further: Last year, she fought against members of her own party, especially Sandy Pasch, during the election, jeopardizing the few seats that the Democrats were winning. Thanks.

    1. She wanted Fields and Coggs to remain in office. Maybe so that she wasn't the only one taking money from Scott Jensen and the other education profiteers.

  6. Capper making crap up again to get attention!

What were you "working hard" on her campaign? Barfing out blog posts doesn't count. I don't remember ever seeing you at fundraisers or house parties or churches or on doors. Yet like a lot of Monday morning QBs you talk like you were there.

If you're so in touch with her constituents you should run for office.

But then that would mean you'd have to get up off you comfy seat on the sidelines where it's easy to launch lame blog posts about how everyone except you is wrong.

For others. This guy has an increasing tendency lately to overplay his role in nearly everything going on. He thinks he's the Gump of WI politics. It would be hilarious to watch if he weren't making up about real people.

  7. Sandy Pasch is not a good representative, and she is a tool of the pharmaceutical industry. Going against her is not bad in and of itself.

  8. is this the same gal who was on the ed schultz show every night back in 2011 ? it seems like she always knew where the camera was.
walker is a rat. how could anybody stand behind walker in a photo op. and claim they are advocating for the workers of wisconsin ?
"conceal and kill " law. why wasn't this brought to a popular vote lena ?5.9 million wisconites and only 70,000 applications for the conceal and kill. it would have lost ?

  9. It's even easier for anonymous feb17 9:25 am to tear into Capper when he or she doesn't have the integrity to not be anonymous. If anyone has been on the hot (not comfy) seat and under attack, it's Capper. Maybe he does it for the attention, but it's sure not for the pay.

  10. Who is capper under "attack" by exactly? Victim!!@#! lol... You can't just expect to dish out over the top rhetoric mixed with a healthy dose of misinformation and smears about people and not have people call that out. He makes stupid and uneducated statements as fact as I've pointed out several times. That's not an attack, it's pointing out an annoying trend that someone who purports to speak for "the left" makes a lot of stuff up and then can't defend it (other than by making it personal) when called out. Including in this post.

It's not strong character to say someone "lied through his teeth" to you and not back that up with something more than vague innuendo simply because he happens to work for the guy that you can't stop obsessing about. That's cheap and that person he's impugning has done more for Democratic causes in the last 5 years than most people in Milwaukee.

Posts like this offer a lot of half truths and noise, but very little substance. It's why a lot of people just choose to ignore it, and why so often capper tries to spice it up by making it personal in nature and never about policy or ideas. It's one thing to toss out fabricated personal accusations about people, it's another to have a reasoned debate or discussion on the ideas.

    1. It should be pointed out that Dan doesn't like me talking about the power grab because he supports it for his own reasons.

But it's hilarious that he is doing the exact same thing he is accusing me of. What Dan won't tell you is how he is omitting the facts about this bill. Makes one wonder what's in it for him.

    2. I was thinking the same thing as I read through Dan's response. He has the audacity to chastise you for perceived offenses, all while overtly committing those same offenses within that very same post. As much as I hate to subject myself to banality, maybe I'll start paying more attention to Dan's blog to see if hypocrisy is a commonalty there as well. I suspect it is.

  11. @Dan Cody Why are you supporting the destruction of Milwaukee and Milwaukee County? I used to support Lena Taylor but have chosen to no longer support her as she continues to support the ideals and policies pushed by her donors like the Einhorn's and indirectly the Koch Bros.

  12. Oh please. I bring up the attacks (he's our radio pundits' favorite punching bag, and didn't he have the private parts of his CPU violated?) not to bestow victimhood. I was reacting to the picture of Capper as this cozy, Monday morning quarterback.

  13. Saying you have to work "with" the other side is supposed to be bipartisanship, it makes people look moderate. I don't know, maybe people have to pick their battles.

    ReplyDelete

    1. When you pick your battles you should never choose against democracy. Destroying the county board and keeping county supervisors from even contacting county departments to advocate for their constituents is insane. There is no moral and ethical reason to support that being made into law. Let the people who live in Milwaukee county decide how to run Milwaukee county

    2. Don't pick the important one(s), soon, you wont have any 'battles' to pick.

  14. A black democrat is only of use until he/she runs against a white democrat (Fields/Coggs) or goes off the liberal plantation to espouse independent thought (Taylor). The War on Minorities continues...

  16. So the people of Milwaukee County will not be represented by a county supervisor as a result of this bill? Did I miss something?
